With inter-departmental collaboration I designed this 100 page journal (and logo/branding) which presents literary and visual work of Macomb Community College students.
The journal Sketches is produced annually. Sketches is one way the college promotes students providing an opportunity to have their work published. The journal supports students and the college by: raising awareness of the talent on campus; promoting students at area employers and four-year universities; and advertises the college at area high schools. The digital version can be found at issuu.
This business-to-business magazine for meeting and event planners, facilities, and resources grew into a series of six State publications: Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Colorado, and Texas. I worked as creative director in a virtual office collaborating across States with editors, writers, photographers, illustrators, sales reps, and production staff. The monthly publications had very short turnaround so a system was developed to streamline production as circulation and editions grew.
The magazines connected meeting and event planners, facilities, and resources using a first person POV travel guide approach. Growth was fueled by the conversational and comfortable presentation and engaging story-telling.
The Guidance Center brochure was a large format (11 x 32 inches) tri-fold presentation of the counseling services provided by a southeast Michigan mental health and suicide prevention center.
